Michelle Barr

Michelle Barr is the Curriculum Development and Coach Educational Manager for Soccer Futures, directing all aspects related to curriculum and staff development as well as all Coach Education programs.

Michelle Barr brings a wealth of elite level playing and coaching experience to Soccer Futures programs. She joined Old Dominion in May 2014 after 3 years as a National Youth Coach in Scotland responsible for the National U19, U16, and U15's squads. Prior to her time with the Scottish Football Association Michelle spent 5 years as the assistant coach at Dartmouth College in NH where she also served as the NH ODP Head coach for U16 and U17 squads.

As a former Scottish National Team defender, over a 10 year period, Michelle represented her country with 87 appearances, and brings a wealth of playing experience from across Europe and the U.S. having played in Premier leagues in England, Iceland, USA, as well as most recently as player-coach with Rangers FC in her native Scotland.

Prior to her 5 years working at Dartmouth, Barr coached youth teams in Scotland: Celtic FC, Falkirk FC as well as spending 4 years combining coaching and playing with IBV in Iceland.

Michelle holds the NSCAA National Diploma as well as her UEFA 'A' License and levels 1, 2 and 3 on the Scottish Football Association Children and Youth pathway. She also holds strength and conditioning qualifications from the UKSCA and has served as a National Scout.

Angie Hind

Angie Hind is the Director of Soccer Futures and has a wealth of experience coaching at the highest level in the Women’s game. Angie is currently the Head Women’s Coach at Old Dominion University having moved to the Lady Monarch's in March, 2014. Coach Hind came to Norfolk, VA after spending three years back home in her native Scotland developing the women's game at both Premier Club and National Team level with Rangers Football Club and the Scottish Women's National team respectively.

From 2003-2010 Hind spent eight years coaching in the Ivy League as Head Women’s Coach at Dartmouth College in NH.

Prior to her eight years with the Big Green, Angie served as a Football Development Officer with the Scottish Football Association for 5 years, a role which included strategic player development at all levels children to Senior, beginner to elite.

As a successful player Angie represented the Scottish Women’s National Team from 1998-2001, and at club level Captained FC Kilmarnock to back to back trebles winning seasons, lifting every major honor in the Scottish game. Angie has been a featured clinician at the NSCAA National Soccer Convention and is a current UEFA 'A' license holder. She also possesses the UEFA Youth and Children’s license award and during her tenure with the Scottish FA was a Coach Educator and Assessor.

Sam Kirschenbaum

Sam is a staff coach and coordinator for Soccerfutures. Also an assistant coach with the ODU women’s soccer program Sam has incredible coaching experience both at elite club level but also in the Women’s college game having coaches at D1 programs UMBC and Marist as well as with D3 powerhouse Virginia Wesleyan. At youth level Sam has worked with Region 1 teams internationally, and integral part of the ODP programs as well as serving as the director of coaching for Baltimore Celtics and Hyde park soccer club.

Kirschenbaum played soccer at SUNY Cortland, where he was a three-time SUNYAC All-Academic Team honoree. He graduated from Cortland with a B.S. in psychology with summa cum laude honors. Kirschenbaum went on to play semi-professionally in the Premier Developmental League (PDL) for the Westchester Flames. Kirschenbaum also played in the First Division of the Cosmopolitan League with the Manhattan Celtic.

Kirschenbaum holds a C License from the United States Soccer Federation, as well as a Premier Diploma from United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA). He serves as an associate staff coach for United Soccer Coaches and was chosen as a member of the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under-30 program in 2017.
